Wildlife Heroes Bushfire Emergency Fund 2019/20

A secured funding pool has been developed as part of the Wildlife Heroes project that includes grants to support wildlife groups respond to the current summer bushfire emergencies.

A total pool of $100,000 is available through this grant round.

Funds for this round are intended to be spent during 2019/20 financial year and will be allocated according to demonstrated need. 

Licenced NSW volunteer wildlife groups (including WIRES branches and independent licence holders) can apply for funds in the 2019/20 financial year. The application should be endorsed by the group's chair or president.

If you are in a state outside of NSW please contact us on wildlifeheroes@fnpw.org.au to register your organisation. If emergencies occur in your state we may be able to source emergency funds outside of the NSW Wildlife Heroes project.

  • has read and understands the program guidelines
  • is a licenced wildlife volunteer group or WIRES branch based in NSW.
  • is an independent wildlife licence holder
  • has sought endorsement of their application by the relevant chair/president¬†
  • is able to demonstrate¬†experience in wildlife emergency response operations or are equipped to do so in future
  • provides a safe workplace for volunteers and has the appropriate type and level of insurance for the activities that are the subject of this grant
  • is not an individual member of a wildlife group
  • does not owe any reports or money to FNPW, NPWS or the NSW Environmental Trust as a result of previous funding or grant
